The humble diaper is one of the overlooked costs of poverty, and a frequent source of stress and frustration for families who struggle to make ends meet. That's why our diaper bank gives out thousands of free diapers each month. It's why we're asking for your help with diaper donations, as part of our December Diaper Drive.
Learn more about why diapers are absolutely essential for children's health and well-being, and what you can do to make a difference!
Did you know?
Babies require up to 12 diapers a day, and toddlers about 8.
To keep a baby safe, healthy, & dry, diapers are absolutely essential.
State and national safety-net programs do not assist with diapers for families living in poverty.
Trenton-Area Families and COVID-19
90% of Maker's Place families have lost income or employment due to COVID-19.
In the last year, 85% of local parents have had to choose between buying diapers or buying food and other essential items for their families.
Households experiencing diaper shortage are, on average, lacking only 19 diapers per month.
How We're Making a Change
The Maker's Place provides free diapers for over 200 children each month.
We distribute over 8,000 diapers a month to struggling families. That's about 100,000 diapers a year!
We've gone mobile to help more families safely. Our "Diaper Depot" distributes free diapers at 5 different grab-and-go locations in Trenton.
Your Donations Make a Difference
Your donations help families to feel less stressed and frustrated (71%); to pay for other expenses (63%); and to feel like a better parent (42%).
Your donations afford parents with dignity, and reduce infants and toddlers' exposure to potential health risks.
